HENNING LARSEN



Educated at the School of Architecture at the Royal Academy of Fine Arts, Copenhagen, 1952. Professor of architecture at the Academy between 1968-1995. Awarded a large number of prizes and honours, including the Eckersberg Medal in 1965, the International Design Award 1987, and the Aga Khan Award in 1989.

Since its establishment in 1959, Henning Larsen's Tegnestue A/S has worked with modern design and in particular with furniture, lamps and building components in additon to participation in architectural design competitions and building projects.

The HL lever handle was designed in 1996 and has since then been used in a large number of buildings, the latest being in the headquarters of Nordea Bank, Denmark; Malmo City Library, Sweden; Roskilde University and the National Opera buildings in Copenhagen.
