Born on August 12, 1945 in Fumel, France, Jean Nouvel has headed his own architectural practice since 1970. For his work he has won many prizes, including the Gold Medal of the French Academy of Architecture, The Royal Gold Medal of the Royal Institute of British Architects, the Aga Khan Prize for the Arab World Institute, and, in 2001, Italy's Borromini Prize for the Lucerne Culture and Congress Centre and Japan's Premium Imperial Carrer Prize.

Among Mr. Nouvel's principal completed buildings are the Arab World Institute in Paris, the Lyon Opera House, the Cartier Foundation in Paris, The Galeries Lafayette department store in Berlin, the Lucerne Culture and Congress Centre, the Andel office building in Prague and most recently, the Dentsu Tower in Tokyo.

Jean Nouvel’s design methods are also applicable to architectural products. The collections of IKONS lever handle is a fine example. A singular and innovative interior accessory that combines exquisite detail, with comfort and application.

The lever handle is designed for DR Concert House in Copenhagen. Different finishes are available in brushed stainless steel, essence of teak, oak and beech woods.
