Mayer und Thiele

Based in the traditional industrial city of Wuppertal, Germany, Mayer und Thiele is a young company which has committed itself to developing and producing innovative kitchen tools. This creative process is guided by the principle of combining traditional proceedures and materials with modern design. Form amalgamates with function in their products, visualising the harmony between users and their tools. Mayer und Thiele's design philosophy seeks to "imbue objects with politeness" by putting the emphasis on honest shapes and materials as well as transparency of function.

The same care is applied to the production of all Mayer und Thiele's products. Making sparing use of materials and designed to save energy, the products are conceived to last a lifetime. Top-notch materials and easy functionality are the promise to you the customer.

All porcelain parts of their products are produced by manufacturers based along the German Porcelain road with its long tradition of porcelain manufacturing. The product development benefits from the expertise gathered from over 180 years in producing "white gold"

Mayer und Thiele have won numerous awards for thier kitchen tools, including the prestigious reddot award 2005 for the blade bench classic and more recently the Grand Design Magazines award 2007 and the reddot award 2007 for their balance.
